About

The Crop Bioengineering Laboratory (CBL) at Iowa State University (ISU) is located in Agronomy Hall on the ISU campus. The facility encompasses 1,352 square feet of lab space and 4,100 square feet of greenhouse space to achieve a high level of service in principal crop species. The laboratory currently transforms maize (B104) using well-established protocols and techniques. CBL has 18 tissue culture incubators, nine laminar airflow hoods, multiple temperature-controlled shaking incubators, one -80°C freezer, multiple dissecting microscopes, a fluorescence microscope, a Bio-Rad PDS 1000/HE biolistic particle delivery system, a Bio-Rad Gene Pulser and other equipment for tissue culture and molecular work.
